On November 11, 2001, I wrote this poem in my spiral-bound, suede-covered journal:
The next day, I recorded this demo of a song that would eventually be called “Unintouch”:
I often sit under that very orange tree when I make my “Singing Cowboy Faux Jean” videos.
If you watch closely, you can see the leaves moving in the video.
This week, I thought maybe staring at a pretty sky would be better than watching my worry lines deepen in real time.

If this screen capture is to be believed, I created and/or modified this song (working title “cabrales(1)”) on November 12, 2001— it definitely was not New Year’s Eve, 1969.
