Faux Jean is a singer-songwriter from Duluth, Minn. Each week he adds a new song to an evolving record series over on Bandcamp and writes about it here. “From the Mixed Up Files of Mr. Matthew T. Schindler” is somewhere between a fake newsletter and a faux press release for the eponymous wabi-sabi private label album series that continues to evolve over there. Thanks for checking it out.

Volume 6 of the “Mixed Up Files” album series has kicked off over at Bandcamp, but you can listen to it right here: it only lasts a minute ;)
I even made a little teaser video to entice new fans to join the fake denim revolution:
This thumbnail proves that I did not always look like Wilford Brimley.
Today’s song was recorded in the Spring of 1998.
This was my first attempt at demo-ing the idea for the song that would become “Flight of the Bumblebee.” (listen below.)
Finding the cassette tape with this early version of Bumble Bee the other day brought me great joy.
Oh yeah, that thing.
I probably made 5 or 6 demo attempts of this song just trying to wrap my head around it.
But this was the first, as I was just learning to multi-track and figure out sounds and suchlike.
25 years like the blink of an eye.
I remain your humble servant,
