This morning was the first day of school for my kids.
Technically, it was 8th grade orientation at 8:30 a.m., and 6th grade orientation at 10 a.m., tomorrow is off, and the official first day of school is Thursday.
But for all intents and purposes, Summer is over.
And how wonderfully awkward and frenetic the energy was at the school this morning!
Fist bumps that should have been high-fives, meeting new teachers, finding classrooms.
And how wonderfully epic this summer was!
Camp, beach days, hiking, Comic-con.
And how much noise there seems to be already on this day.
And so, with that being said, today’s song addition to the “Mixed Up Files” is a short and sweet intro loop to a song called “Driving by Your House,” which may wind up on the LP of new material that I aspire to release before year’s end, and which you can listen to in the player below:
I just heard someone in an ajoining room say “I’m starving!” and so I must away to tend to my flock.1
