May Day is a public holiday in Finland and much of Europe. It often comes with huge celebrations and coincides with International Workers Day, honoring labor. But, damn if I don't also I miss the May Day festivities at Powderhorn Park which just struck me as more joyous and less centered around alcohol. Plus, the weather in Minneapolis was often quite lovely that time of year, if I recall. And I always love a good parade. I was homesick enough for that event this year, I proposed bringing my family to Minnesota specifically to enjoy it at some point in the future, a longer trip for us than even for you cowboys under your orange trees out there on the left coast.

So I am not alone! I feel just a little better now. Thanks David.
