My Faux Pictures of Health,
Happy Tuesday!
Remember how I said my Covid test was negative last Tuesday?
Well, sometimes tests lie.
Wednesday had a different narrative in store for me.
And I’ve been cooped up in my apartment basically for a week solid.
With my daughter, who thankfully did not test positive for Covid.1
I feel better and yesterday’s test was basically negative.
So I remain positive. . .
And I put my time to pretty good use, methinks.2
I took a recent-ish song/mantra idea and made a new recording of it for the “Mixed Up Files” this week.
That’s right, I recorded a new song while sick with Covid and am sharing it here today.3
It’s called “Just Got to Get Through Today” and it goes like this4:
It’s two minutes and fifty-four seconds of me repeating the same lyric:
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
I Just Got to Get Through Today
I Just Gotta Get
On July 23, 2023, I’d made this voice memo:
We had recently moved to San Diego and I was sitting in my car before going in for my Friday shift at work.
I think folks can relate to this perhaps?
I actually just this morning finished the vocals on the F to C part so I could share this song before writing the newsletter.
That’s how dedicated I am to this project.
It’s best though, that my dear child went back to school, because she would not have approved of the vocals on the F to C part, had she been around to hear them this morning.
And with this song, I wrap up “From the Mixed Up Files of Mr. Matthew T. Schindler, Voulme 3,” as next week falls one day after the Spring Equinox, and it is time to begin anew.5
I remain your humble servant,
OX&C,
Faux Jean
And was able to return to school yesterday.
Did a lot of laundry, recorded a new song, etc.
We’re leaving 1997 in the dust, my Faux friends!
One can hear my daughter whooping in the background at certain points.
We start Volume IV next week!
Feel better, Matty :)
Whooping along with your daughter <3
Your album is a nod to one of the best freakin' kids books EVER!!!
ps. I wish The Met still had an automat.
