Hola Fauxs!
Summer Solstice is tomorrow and the kids are out of school, so it’s time to add one last song to Volume 4 of “From the Mixed Up Files of Mr. Matthew T. Schindler” before moving on to Volume 5.1
Here ‘tis, an instrumental sketch that I made on cassette back in 2004, called “Sophisticated Animal.”
This is just a fun romp that would go on to be recorded and released by the Faux Jean band in 2006 as “Dirty Dogs.” (Which one can listen to below on Youtube.)
This song is about how human beings are just sophisticated animals. Dirty dogs, if you will.
A romp.
Fun.
Yes.
Let’s have a good summer.
I remain your humble servant,
OX&C,
Faux Jean
Here are the lyrics to “Dirty Dogs,” which arose from this demo:
you think you’re so sophisticated
you’re just a dog domesticated
if you were a bitch i’d have you spayed
and if you were a bitch i’d have you down over
my knee, for a real good spanking
oh my, it’s me, old faux you’d be thanking
drop down dog and give me twenty
i love you lots i guess the one is plenty
why the long face oh you didn’t get any
spent a pretty penny and you didn’t even really
get what you wanted see
‘cause my lipstick is receding
just like an old dog
or the cock’s comb henpecked bleeding
and if this was a perfect world
you might be my perfect girl
but your beauty is a curse
your attitude is even worse
and it hurts
this whole thing was consummated
long before we ever dated
so why you got to be sophisticated
why you got to be anything other than
the animal you were
on our very first weekend
dumb as dirt and in heat
veritably freaking
and if this was a perfect world
you might be my perfect girl
but your beauty is a curse
your attitude is even worse
spent a pretty penny
not a penny ante
then you didn’t get any what you wanted to do
spend it if you got it
drop ‘em if you want it
drop ‘em down around your ankles
like you always used to do
baby now i see
we’re domesticated
like dogs—
dirty dogs!
i’m a hound dog!
dirty dogs!
We change with the seasons, baby.
