Trish the Dish

Who's Your Baby Now?

Faux GFs and BFs,

I had a GF in the 4th grade whom my cousin Jerry dubbed “Trish the Dish.”

He’d never even seen her, but I guess he just knew.

In 1989, I wrote about one of our 1979 dates in my journal— a dramatic reading of which can be peeped in the above video today.

A bedtime story, if you will.

The last time I saw her, circa 1991, she was traveling west on highway 7, rolling into Saint Louis Park in a pale green ‘72 Mustang with her high-school BF Kevin at the wheel.

Today’s song addition to the “Mixed Up Files” album series on Bandcamp is adjacent to this subject.

The song is a Frankenstein cut-up from 2008 called “Who’s Your Baby Now? (improv 2 15 2008).” Listen in the player below.

It’s kind of a cow-punk rant.

And a silly one at that.

I remain your humble servant,

OX&C,

Faux Jean

Here are the lyrics:

Hey! Hey!
Who's your baby now?
Who's your baby now?
Who is your baby right now?

You said do not waste my time
You said do not waste my time
I said I thought you made it right
Gonna find you you gone away
Gonna find you you gone away
Ain't gonna come for a sight for sore eyes
Ain't gonna come for a sight for sore eyes
I'm not a sight for sore eyes
I'm outta sight for your love baby!

I don't want to go around
I don't want to go around
You said I a hoocher
who shot bum bum

Heh!
Heah!
Heah!
Heah!
Heah!
Heah!

Who's your baby now?
Who's your girl right now?
Who's your baby now?
Who is your baby right now?
