I recorded today’s song addition to the Mixed Up Files while walking in a nature preserve in Madison, WI in 2018.

So that’s the new genre, music recorded spontaneously while out on a nature walk.

Listen to the song here (pardon the sound of footsteps and airplanes flying overhead):

Here is a transcript of the video:

Hey everybody singing cowboy Faux Jean how are you today? It is Tuesday, November 12. I’m out in nature,I’m walking the dog as you can see. The reason I’m walking well today’s song, I actually recorded it while I was walking.

They say when you’re stressed out just a little walk out in nature is a good idea. And even though I can still hear some Pickleball players off in the distance, geez those guys. it’s still nice to get out walk the dog. get a little sunshine. feel those nutrients coming in from the sun. and today’s song is called “I’m not like other guys” and this version that I’m sharing today I actually recorded it while I was out on a nature walk.

And it was I can’t remember what year it was 2018 maybe even earlier than that, stressful time— I was living in Madison Wisconsin, every day I would get out and walk in those Eagle Heights Gardens, and that helped me stay sane.

And staying sane —easier said than done in this world sometimes, but the song “I’m not like other guys” I remember I read something about Childish Gambino talking about some guy being on a couch and how unlikely that was or how specific to that case. And I’d actually been sleeping on the couch when I met my wife, and I integrated that concept into the song. I hope you like it, it’s supposed to be kind of a funny song. and I recorded it on my phone while I was walking. like I am right now. so today’s video I’m walking and today’s song that I’m putting on Bandcamp. I’m walking.

“I’m not like other guys.”

A lot of people would say, why would you put such a low quality recording on a record? and I guess I would say it’s cause it’s a free country and I can do that. and that’s OK. and God bless America and all that kind of jazz. I hope you like the song. I thank you for your attention. Let’s keep a stiff upper lip and all that kind of stuff. Ok? over and out, Faux Jean signing off. I remain your humble servant, hugs, kisses, etc..

FAUX JEAN

Here are the lyrics for today’s song:

Remember when you met me
I didn't have a bed
You looked around the room
"Where do you sleep?!" you said
"I'm a bit of a slouch"
I said "I sleep on that couch"
And then I looked into your eyes and I sang:

I'm not like other guys
honest babe, I ain't
But still I am a guy
And so there is a taint

I'm not like other bros
who put those before hoes
I'm fine with your kind
No No, I don't mind

I'm not like other men
But still I am a man
I can be a ham
But I swear I'm not like them

I'm not like other guys
honest babe, I ain't
But still I am a guy
I cannot deny
And so there is a taint!

Also, here is a short documentary I made about the Eagle Heights Gardens where I used to take my daily walk back in Wisconsin:

Eagle Heights birdhouse.
My shadow and Teenie on today’s walk.
